Day Six with Cancer

Day Six with Cancer:

What a day this has been.  I love my Sundays.  They give me an opportunity to relax, spend some time with the Lord, and spend some time with my family.  Last night I fell asleep before I was able to set an alarm, so I woke up and didn't have very much time to get ready before I needed to be on the road.  Somehow I still ended up getting to the church on time, but I wasn't sure where to park, as there were TONS of cars.  I completely forgot that the Impact Team was singing during our service.  Worship was very moving for me today.  Caleb had been "brushing my hair" with my key pendant.  I began to cry and he asked if I was crying because he had hurt my head.  He's so sweet.

More Caleb-isms of the day included Miriam singing Through It All and Caleb saying, "She just said Rudolph!"  He also asked me after the Impact Team started singing, "Is this all about God?"  After that, he started pressing on his ear and was amazed at the fact that it changed the sound.  This mainly amused me because I remember doing that as a child.  I love that everything is so exciting when you're little.

The last song they sang was actually one that we did my senior year.  It was my solo at the time.  I couldn't help but sing along.  Jeremy was giving me a hard time for "showing up" the girl who was singing.  I was just enjoying breaking down some gospel music. :)

After church, Jason, Jenny, Syd, Jeremy and I went to lunch at the Winking Lizard.  Jay and Jeremy got this enormous burger.  It had two burgers, two pieces of ham, two eggs, hash browns and some spicy mayo stuff on it.  They were ridiculous.  Jason took his first bite and went, "...mmm...Jeremy."  Jenny and I had to stare at each other and laugh.  It was oddly uncomfortable.  We had such a great time.  I love when the four of us are able to get together.  We have some really great talks.  I feel blessed to have such a great family.

Afterward, Jeremy and I went to Half Price Books and Pat Catans.  I got some books on Judy and Oz, and picked up some stuff for the Cancer Awareness Jewelry.  We went back to the church and decided just to drive back to my house.  I let dad know we were coming and he said he was with grandma and to stop by.  When we got there, we were greeted by, "You're the David Cook guy!"  The woman at the front desk had been at our church on Easter Sunday and her daughter thought for sure that Jeremy was David Cook.  She was like, "This church is so cool!"  We spoke with her for quite a while before we actually went down to see grandma.  Her place is really nice. She was so excited to show it off to us.    We were introduced to all of her friends at dinner and all the women in their prayer group who had been praying for me.

We went to Chops for dinner and then set up the Wii Fit when we got home.  It was highly entertaining. Jeremy and I kept competing and getting frustrated when we'd fail at one of the challenges.  Jeremy was using his phone to record me walking the tight rope, doing rhythm kung fu, and the super hula hoop.  It was EXTREMELY awkward to be swinging my hips in circles with my butt going all over the place and having my mom and my boyfriend giggling behind me.  That being said, I got a pretty decent work out for being anemic and not being able to do much.  Jeremy was cracking me up trying to do the Lotus (or Locust as he would say).  I also whupped  him in the tight rope walking AND in the one where you have to go down the river in a bubble...even though I stunk on that one too.  It was a seriously fun time.  I like being able to "work out" and laugh that much at the same time.  We're now winding down and watching some Firefly.  I'm thinking about trying to get some jewelry done before bed.  All in all, it's been a lovely day. :)
